My aim was not to depict the stereotypical vampire that we see so often in films from the 1930’s and fancy dress parties. For these are warped incantations that show little likeness to the man described within the novel by Bram Stoker. I chose to base my depiction on the original text.
Dracula is an illusionist, his past and true personality are hidden from whom he meets. A man whose age is far older than his physical appearance and with a mind containing a wealth of knowledge. He has a dark appeal; danger concealed behind a relentless charm and intelligent wit. No physical shackles restrain you, and yet, you are his captive. Prey led so willingly into an invisible snare.
